How to see when an export ran in the audit trail?

The audit trail of a report, expense or invoice shows when an export ran and, for a scheduled export, which schedule started it. This lets you check afterwards which data went to your finance system and when.

What the audit trail records for an export

  • The moment the export ran.
  • The export ID of the export.
  • For a scheduled export: the schedule that started it.

This applies both when you export a single row and when you use a bulk action in the invoice, expense and report dashboards.

Viewing the audit trail of a document

  1. Open the report, expense or invoice whose export you want to check.
  2. Click Audit trail.

Exporting the audit trail

You can export the audit trail as XLSX or CSV. The audit trail export of a report contains every transaction in that report. The audit trail export also contains the invoice number and a link to the document.

  1. Open Audit trail on the document.
  2. Click export audit trail and choose XLSX or CSV.

Tip: looking for a specific export? The export ID is also a column and a filter in the card report and out of pocket report dashboards.
